JANUARY: Monthly Mash

This one is rather short and sweet as we have absolutely no information to report because we have totally enjoyed indulging in . . . NOTHING! We have spent time over the festive season with family and friends, have enjoyed lots of sitting down and cramming box sets and have since ventured into the never-ending world of Celtic Connections (from Shooglenifty to Karine Polwart and beyond we are still actually here right at this moment waiting for the amazing Rhiannon Giddens to grace the Royal Concert Hall stage)! We have been booking performances for this year and have also tweaked our website and social media platforms to make them look a little more slick! We are delighted to be visiting some of our favourite venues across the country as well as performing in some new ones; we also have a few festival bookings too that we cannot wait get cracking at!

We will be performing at the amazing Fife Whisky Festival at the phenomenal Lindores Abbey Distillery. We will be meeting with the organisers of this festival very soon to interview them for a feature blog; they are such interesting people with brilliant personalities so it is going to be quite a read (you can see the four of us in the post-festival photo below)! We are also going to be debuting in a few folk clubs too; we always relish the opportunity to perform in this kind of environment and very much look forward to entertaining their club members!

What can we say? The album is, so far, sounding unbelievable! We are very excited to hear what our first line up of musicians are going to unleash; did we tell who we have on board so far? We are completely thrilled they all said 'yes'! In case you didn't catch it on Facebook, check out the below. Scott Burrell (Drums / Percussion) Roberto Cassani (Bass / Double Bass)

Laura-Beth Salter (Mandolin)

Garry McFadden (Banjo)

Chris Small (Harmonica) If you would like to receive updates about and be a part of the making of this album you can make a pledge here; you will be able to access all previous updates that include audio, video and picture material that is only being made exclusively available to those who support our project. In joining our community of pledgers you would also be helping to raise funds for the Scottish Society for Mental Health.

Before we go, we would like to share three things from the past month of our lives that we have found to be useful; you might also be able to find value in them in some way! COBBIES INN. Under-stated bar with the surprise element of a rather banging menu! THE BRAVER ONE. A song by a musician we are delighted to be working with. LABORATORIO. We managed to find some of the best coffee for sale in Scotland.
