We spent the weekend at this year's Perthshire Amber Music Festival having been invited there by the lovely Jenny MacLean as part of the festival team! It was an absolute pleasure to work with all of the awesome people below; everybody is so hard working in their efforts to make sure this festival delivers . . . and it absolutely does every single time! We performed a sold out show alongside the lovely Lisa Kowalski and Ryan Young on the Friday evening at Cabaret Amber; with the amazing Gordon Maclean on sound we were in very good hands and the performance was so much fun! The Saturday was a very special day as we kept two very long sessions going at both the Perth Arms and Royal Dunkeld; we couldn't have done it without our dear friends who joined us around the table for a multitude of songs from traditional music to blues. We became reacquainted with our friends from ButeFest too, which suitably ended up being an absolute riot of fun; a huge shout out goes to Hayley Ewing and Amy Moffat for the epic levels of banter that occurred over the course of the weekend. Then came the Sunday where we joined the rest of the festival team for the Farewell Bash at the Dunkeld House Hotel. This was a very stately affair and a totally wonderful afternoon; it ended with all of us on stage performing 'This Love Will Carry' with Dougie MacLean . . . it was quite an emotional moment for everybody involved! To celebrate the end of such a brilliant weekend and everybody's hard work we all headed to The Taybank for some fish and chips outside in the brisk night air; there were a few tunes and a lot of laughs, which for us, rounded off such a special weekend so nicely. Here's a photo of us all by Amy!
We are hitting DIVA Music Festival for our last live performances of the year! With a packed line up of mega-talented women we are delighted to be in good company with KT Tunstall, Gabrielle, Heather Peace and Red Sky July (to name a few). We will absolutely be bringing the noise to our V Lounge Stage headline slot on the Saturday night as well as to our V Arena Stage opener the following day (the hangover session); Great Yarmouth is in for a belter of weekend for sure! We will then be returning to a stage near you in the month of February after some much needed rest and relaxation over the festive season after an incredibly busy year.
That's our first rewards away! We have sent The Whisky Bundle, Original Painted Canvas, Handwritten Lyric Sheet and Back Catalogue rewards to our pledgers after an incredibly busy time putting everything together; the place was an absolute mess. It has been a really fun part of our crowdfunding campaign and we cannot wait to get the rest of the rewards out to people when they are fulfilled. We are going to be working away over the Winter period with the musicians who are going to embellish our songs; we have already been in the studio with Scott Burrell who has brought the songs to life with his superb drumming. We will be posting some song examples to the updates section of our project page very soon! If you would like to receive updates about and be a part of the making of this album you can make a pledge here; you will be able to access all previous updates that include audio, video and picture material that is only being made exclusively available to those who support our project. In joining our community of pledgers you would also be helping to raise funds for the Scottish Society for Mental Health.
Before we go, we would like to share three things from the past month of our lives that we have found to be useful; you might also be able to find value in them in some way! ROYAL DUNKELD HOTEL. An old school hotel with lots of character and fantastic food. HONKY TONK WOMAN. A song a friend of ours absolutely rocked at a session. Ha! DIVA MAGAZINE. Creators of the DIVA Music Festival along with Heather Peace.
